Toledo, Ohio · On the Maumee
One Seagate
Toledo's tallest reflection of the Glass City is entering its next chapter — from Owens-Illinois headquarters to Fifth Third's Northwest Ohio home, and now a regional center for business and technology under new ownership.
The building
A Glass City landmark, built for the long view
One Seagate rises above the Maumee River as the centerpiece of downtown Toledo's SeaGate redevelopment. Designed by Abramovitz, Harris & Kingsland and completed in 1982 at a cost of roughly $100 million, the tower wears 293,000 square feet of glass — a direct nod to Toledo's history as the Glass City.
The building served as world headquarters for Owens-Illinois until 2006, when the company relocated to Perrysburg. In 2007, Fifth Third Bank moved its Northwest Ohio headquarters into the tower, and the building has carried the Fifth Third name alongside One Seagate ever since.
It remains connected to the CitiWalk underground system and Imagination Station, keeping it woven into the daily rhythm of downtown Toledo.
Under new ownership
“A regional center for technology and innovation — serving businesses across Ohio, Michigan, and the broader Midwest.”
In 2026, ownership of One Seagate passed to One Seagate Holdings, the group behind a comprehensive reinvestment in the tower. The plan carries the building forward as a modern, amenity-rich home for tenants across the region — without losing the architecture that has defined Toledo's skyline for more than four decades.
